Victoria has recorded 216 new COVID-19 instances, with one other demise in a single day.
A person in his 90s died in hospital in a single day, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews revealed.
There at the moment are 1249 lively instances throughout the state.
“Without this data and sense of how the virus is moving, you can’t get
to their close contacts or put in place a strategy to get them high isolated at home, and you cannot stop it spreading to the point where many, many more people will become gravely ill and will need hospital care, and we know what that means – once those numbers grow in a really aggressive fashion, we know that that will spell tragedy for many more Victorian families,” Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews mentioned.
“I know it is very frustrating, and it is not the place that we wanted to be in, but it’s a clear strategy. It will work, but only if every single Victorian and the whole community that will ultimately benefit from that strategy – it only works if we all play our part.”
Mr Andrews as soon as once more reminded residents in locked down areas “this is not an ordinary weekend”.
“It is anything but that. You’ve got to be in your home if you are in the metropolitan, Melbourne or Mitchell Shire, and only for those four reasons, only if you need to leave your home for one of those four reasons,” he mentioned.
“As frustrating, as inconvenient and as challenging as it is, we cannot deny the reality of the situation we face, and we cannot pretend that doing anything other than following the rules will get us to the other side of this.”
